I found my favorite fall item!

My husband and I had a date this morning! We saw a movie and as we left I spied this little soap shoppe!!

Its the Sugar Boutique. The Soap and Candle Bakery!!

What a little treasure it is. Nestled in Regency Plaza in Brandon, Melanie sells fabulous handmade soaps and candles. This is truly an artists nest.

I bought the Apple Caramel Crunch soap cake! Actually the sweet husband bought it for me.
It reminds me of the reason why i love the season!!

Back to School Already?!

I am now a full - time Foster mommy and Loving it!

Since I will have one school aged child this fall I wanted to find out what I could about "Back - to School" Events!

The Annual Publix Back-to-School Bash is August 8th and 9th!

Now I went two years ago with 5 toddler boys in tow! There was snacks a plenty for them and even small play areas set aside for the littles. There was an indoor petting zoo and giveaway galore!

I would recommend it!

FLAG FOOTBALL COOKOUT & FUNDRAISER FOR A GOOD CAUSE.

WHEN: 22 NOVEMBER

11AM-6PM

WHERE: EASTBAY

LITTLE LEAGUE

13012 Bullfrog Creek Rd
Gibsonton, FL 33534

Be a light for a family in their darkest time

Please come out and help us support a local family whose daughter was the victim of rape at a local library. A brutal crime that has left a young woman with brain damage, blindness and a family with only memories of a wonderful girl with a bright future. Please help them, in this benefit, to ease their minds of a financial burden created by medical expenses.

Not much different than most teenagers, she was active in student government at East Bay High School, she loved shoes and purses, a Christian girl who was adored by all that knew her. A close friend said, “I called her Sunshine, that’s what she brought with her everywhere she went.”

Come out and watch a game of flag football with a little contact. It will be held at East Bay Little League complex right off of I-75 (exit 246) on November 22, 2008 at 11 am till evening time. There will be food provided by Five Guys Burgers & Fries, Panera Bread, Buffalo Wild Wings and many more, with all proceeds going to the family. Any donations go to the family to ease their burden of medical expenses.

Due to the victim’s age and nature of the case, her name will not be released.

OUT - About - and Around

I want to spend some time talking about Orlando here. It is so nice to have such a vacation friendly area within an hour drive!

Hotel prices are very reasonable in Orlando. Have you noticed?

This past week , my sweet deputy husband had some time off and we went to take in a small dinner show.

We visited the Outta Control Magic Comedy Dinner show at Wonderworks.
For a total of $38 (by using coupons found in the hotel lobby) we enjoyed a whole buncha pizza, salad, and popcorn. Neither of us are beer drinkers but there was also lotsa free beer.

The show itself was entertaining. For about 1 hour we were amused by the card tricks, simple magic, and illusions.

I think the show is perfect for youth group gatherings and the children there seemed to be fascinated.

There was plenty of audience participation and there was chocolate cake.

Squash Soup

Today I made the most delicious soup!

Rae's Sweet and Savory Squash Soup.

Mmmmm.

Why don't you give it a try. Feel free to modify to your taste buds!

Bring 1 c. chicken broth to a boil in medium saucepan.
Add 1 Tb. Onion Powder and 2Tb butter.
Place 1 package frozen sweet and smooth squash into boiling mix.
Add 1/2 cup milk. ( I used Almond Breeze because that is what I had on hand.-YUM)
As squash thaws into soup base keep whisking and add 1/3 package cream cheese and 2 more Tb butter.
A dash of cinnamon finishes out the flavor.

Serve warm topped with a dollop of sour cream and fresh ground pepper.

Calorie count will be based on your usage of items such as milk, butter, cream cheese, etc.

ENJOY!
